Will someone please turn off the rain …

I am sure that I am not the only one wanting the rain to stop, but I suppose that I don’t have that much to complain about really.  I haven’t been flooded out of house and home, or washed off a bridge.

But I am heartily sick of rugging up like the Micheline Man to get on the bike and go to Sydney and come home again.

Seriously though, I hope that everyone effected by the flooding is high and dry and safe.

In other news I just can’t believe the response that I have had to my video Ten Minutes To Orgasm.  There will definitely be a sequel and it will likely happen in the next week or two, time permitting.  Thanks again to everyone who has emailed me with complements, suggestions, scripts for short films (!) and offers to co-star.  I am really blown away by your enthusiasm and I hope that I can live up to it :-)

So.  Stay tuned!

An excellent view of the rain …

Having experienced a foot of snow in the Victorian high country in late December, I won’t say that this nasty weather so close to Christmas is unprecedented, but it is definitely disappointing!

For my part, I am sitting in a “panorama suit” at Rydges hotel in Rosehill listening to U2 and Talking Heads with an excellent view of the rain and cloud.  Not exactly what I had hoped for, but at least I don’t have to go anywhere in it today!

Stay safe and be careful on the roads out there.

Hope

Good evening from the land of nod …

When I wrote the title to this post it was just a throwaway line because I am feeling a bit sleepy.  However I decided to Google the term out of curiosity, just to see if anything interesting came up.  The first hit was the Wikipedia reference …

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_of_Nod

I have to say, I had no idea that The Land of Nod (according to religious tales) is actually on the east of Eden.  Or a small hamlet in the East Riding of Yorkshire in the UK …

The things that you can learn on the Internet!

Well, I hope that everyone has been staying out of the rain and having a good week.  I am off to Melbourne on Saturday, so if you are dropping in to Sexpo in the afternoon, then you might spot me there!  If so, give me a wink, or say hello if your feeling brave!

Hotels are strange places

I am currently enduring hotel checking limbo.  Meaning that the earliest that I can check in is 1,00pm, and it’s now only just after 10.30am  I had to drop my bike off early this morning to get it serviced.  So here I am whiling away the time in the hotel bar.

Thankfully I have my laptop and phone, so I am pretty much self-sufficient and able to do “real work” if I choose.

On the off chance that you are in the Rose Hill area and feel like meeting me for a coffee, then send me a text, or give me a call.  I would enjoy some company :-)

New Orleans again …

I have found myself once again at the New Orleans Cafe in Crows Nest on this wet afternoon.  I had quite an enjoyable lunch and thanks to the staff generously allowing me to use a power point, I am not getting down to some work (thanks to my laptop and smartphone – have I ever told you I just love what technology allows us to do!).

Anyway, the actual point of this post was to share some grafiti and other stuff from the Mens Room here.  First up was this grafiti.  When I think of the real New Orlean (although I have never been there personally), I think of food and music … I think this really embodies it!

I am not sure if this is going to be legible, but I will upload a high res version of the image another day if it’s not.  The message though is this: Never, ever, fuck with the person who prepares your food!  It’s a heart warming reminder for all those under appreciated cooks out there ;-)

Curse this rain …

I don’t often say this, but Curse This Rain!

I am about to get on the bike and head to Sydney and it’s raining.  Not my favourite way to travel in the wet.  My car (which has been at the mechanics for three weeks) is finally home and working, however the fairly major nature of the work done to it means that it is limited to just running around on short trips for a while until it is properly bedded in again.

So, bike it is once again.  The road works around my area don’t help either, making a slow trip slower and meaning that the bike is definitely going to need another wash when I get home!

Pin cushion!

I had my regular check-up with the doctor the other day and after having blood drawn, plus a vaccination booster for Hep A and B I feel like pin cushion!

I don’t much like needles at the best of times, so this was extra unpleasant.

However it’s all for a good cause and ultimately very important that I know that I am safe and that I am not putting my clients at risk.

The nurse who normally take blood at my GP’s clinic was away again (a regular occurance), so the doctor had to take the sample in stead.  I am really pleased to find that his technique has improved dramatically since the last time that I saw him!

The vaccination still stung like blazes though and I still feel like I have been punched in the arm.

Still, modern medicine.  I wouldn’t want to live in a world without.

The return of foggy mornings

One of the things that I love about longer days is getting out early for a walk with the dogs.  And this time of year there is the extra pleasure of fog.

I love walking on a foggy morning, everything is damp and dripping, but as you go the fog slowly starts to lift and by the time you are home again the sun is probably peeping over the mountain and burning away the fog, making everything golden …

It’s a great way to start the day.

Sun and sand

I had a couple of hours to spare today, so I rode my motorcycle to South Head and then walked down to Lady Bay beach.

Its a small clothing optional beach that, when the tide is in (like today) is not much more than a few meters of rock and sand.

Still, the day was warm and the water was beautiful, cool and clean, so I got to swim for the first time this season. I love salt water. I always feel good after spending time in it. Especially if I can then relax in the sun naked to dry off.

I don’t much go in for tanning, but after a winter of no sunshine I am ready to get just a little bit of colour back again!

Being able to strip off legally is good. There aren’t that many option around inner Sydney. So it was nice to get to Lady Bay today.

No photos to show you sadly, as it’s not really polite to be waving a camera around on a nude beach.
