Living in the country means building a big pile over summer of all the garden off cuts, old tree stumps, and odds and ends that need to be burned when winter comes.

And today was the day! No wind, everything a bit damp from the rain this week. Perfect weather for a fire.
So the pile was lit up and away it went!

I thought about marshmallows – but honestly this fire was SO hot that you couldn’t comfortably stand within ten meters of it!

Hi John, nice to see you are keeping warm :) Are you permanently based in the country now? How far does one have to travel to come to you?
Hi Tina, oh it was more than warm! I do love a good bonfire. Yes, since I moved out of my apartment in Olympic Park I live down here full time. It’s on tbe south side of the Southern Highlands. About two hours easy drive from Sydney.
